High School Study Skills

NEW! Summer Study Skills Camp 2013

This is a great way to  help students prepare for the new academic year! You will see their skills, their confidence and their grades soar. Camps meet Monday-Friday for two hours, one class longer than the academic year program. The expanded time guarantees that there will be time for more fun and creative activities as part of the proven Stressless Tests® method. Participants enjoy the interactive class activities as well as meeting new friends. Classes usually fill with waiting lists. Register soon! Our classes are held in Columbia, Maryland.

The Stressless Tests® Method help students improve their grades and boost their confidence as they

Identify their dominant, brain-determined, learning style

Discover how their learning style affects test-taking, focusing,

subject-matter challenges, procrastination, organization, and more

Learn proven techniques and strategies to enhance learning style,

engage more of their brain’s capabilities, build confidence, and improve performance

Incorporate new concrete behavior and skills into their everyday work, taking action to boost their academic standing

The High School Study Skills Course helps students increase their understanding of how they learn best  and develop time-tested skills to improve academic performance.   Many students do well in class but lack this systematic approach that helps them develop self-confidence and testing skills.

For students who suffer from Test Anxiety, (i.e. they know the material but freeze when it comes to tests), this course has proven extremely effective.

Topics Covered

  • Your Brain-Determined Learning Style and Why it Matters
  • Getting Organized
  • Taming ADD and  Concentration and Memory
  • Note Taking
  • Time Management

  • Effective Study Habits
  • Mastering Longtem Projects
  • Overcoming Procrastination and Perfectionism

Who Will Benefit From Taking This Class:

This course helps entering ninth graders adapt to the increased rigors of high school, and supports tenth through twelth graders to be prepared for both classroom studies and the many forms of standardized testing. High School Students will learn to reduce their stress, improve their self-confidence, and improve their classroom performance. This skills-based approach helps  students move to the next level of competency, whether they are  struggling or are taking advanced level classes.
